Ability scores that fit the class
The standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) is placed by the tool, not guessed by the AI, with the highest numbers on what your class uses most.

What the example shows
The first example above is a real answer of this tool, nothing edited. The traits, ideal, bond and flaw are prompts for roleplaying. The hook is a thread your DM can pull to bring the character into the story. The ability scores come from the class, not from the AI.
How the ability scores work
The sheet uses the standard array: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10 and 8, one number for each of the six abilities. The tool places them in code: the highest numbers go to the abilities your class relies on, and the rest fill in after them. Each number is used once.
The scores are shown before your race's bonuses. Add those from the SRD, and ask your DM if you want to move the numbers around.
Using the sheet at the table
Read the ideal, bond and flaw aloud when you introduce the character. They are easy to play and give the DM something to push on. Show the hook to your DM before the first session.
The sheet covers who the character is, not their class features, spells, hit points or equipment. Take those from the SRD or your usual character sheet.
Story backgrounds only
The backgrounds here (Acolyte, Artisan, Criminal, Folk hero, Hermit, Noble, Outlander, Sage, Sailor, Soldier and Urchin) are story backgrounds only. The tool does not use background features or text from any book. The backstory is written fresh each time, and the tool is told not to quote any book. Only the races and classes of the SRD 5.1 are offered.

Is this DnD character creator free?
Not free, but cheap. Every run uses a few credits, shown before you start, and you need to be signed in. Each run gives one character.
Does it work for D&D 5e?
Yes. The tool is compatible with fifth edition. The races and classes are the ones in the SRD 5.1, and the ability scores use the standard array.
Which races and classes can I pick?
Races: Dragonborn, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Halfling, Human and Tiefling. Classes: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock and Wizard.
Can I roll or choose my own stats?
Not in the tool. It uses the standard array and places the numbers for your class. You can move them around on your own sheet if your DM allows it.
Does it add my race's ability bonuses?
No. The sheet shows the standard array before your race's bonuses. Add them from the SRD.
