Writing lyrics that sing well

Sung lyrics work best with lines of a similar length, a clear rhyme and a chorus that repeats. Long lines with no rhythm come out rushed. Put your hook in the [Chorus] and keep it short.

  • Easy to sing: "I am finding my way, finding my way home"
  • Harder: "As I consider the long and winding nature of everything I have done"

From a song to a video

Frequently asked questions

How do I make AI sing my lyrics?

Paste your lyrics, pick a genre and a voice, and press Generate. MiniMax Music v2 writes the music and sings your words. You get one MP3 in about a minute.

Does it sing exactly my words?

It tries to. We ran our examples through a speech-to-text model and it heard the lyrics as written. The model can still repeat a line or stretch a word, so listen before you use it.

How much does a song cost?

About 8 credits a song. New accounts get 40 free trial credits, enough for a few songs. Paid plans start at $12 a month for 1,000 credits.

How long is the song?

The model picks the length, with an intro and an ending around your words. Our examples with four sung lines came out at 52 and 54 seconds. Up to 3,000 characters of lyrics are sent.

Can it copy a real singer?

No. There is no voice cloning. You pick a kind of voice, not a person.

How do I format lyrics for the best result?

One sung line per line, 5 to 12 syllables each. Put [Verse] and [Chorus] on their own lines. Repeat the chorus lines if you want them sung twice.

Which languages work?

Our examples are in English. The model also sings other languages, such as Japanese or Spanish, but we have not tested them here, so results may vary.
