How it works

  1. 01

    Give it the idea

One or two lines is enough. Add names, a place or an ending if you have them: whatever you write stays exactly as you wrote it.

  2. 02

    Pick a format

One scene, a short film, a comedy sketch or a 30-second ad. Add a genre if you want one.

  3. 03

    Watch it get written

The pages appear as they are written. Copy them, download Fountain or PDF, or continue in the AI Script Writer to edit and go on.

What you get

Real screenplay format

Scene headings, action, character cues and dialogue are set the way a producer expects them. Copy the pages, or download them as Fountain or PDF.

Written like a screenwriter

Each scene wants something and turns something. People talk to get what they want, not to explain themselves, and the small talk is cut.

Free to try

3 scripts a day with no account, 20 with a free one. When you want more, the full writer is one click away.

Who it's for

  • Writers facing a blank page

Get a first version of a scene to react to, then rewrite it in your own voice. Changing a page is easier than starting one.

  • Film students and short-film makers

Draft a script you can shoot with a small cast and one or two locations, then take it to the editor and revise it.

  • Creators and small brands

Write a comedy sketch for your channel or a 30-second ad with a story in it, ready to shoot or to turn into video.

What the example shows

The example above is a real result of this tool, written from the idea in the box. Nothing was edited after it came back.

Notice what it leaves out: no arrivals, no greetings, nobody explaining how they feel. The scene opens in the middle of an argument about a loaf of bread and ends on something the baker does, not on something anyone says.

How the pages are made to read like a screenplay

The writer works from the rules that working screenwriters and script editors use, not from a general chat prompt. Each page is held to the same list:

  • Filmable only. It writes what a camera sees and a microphone hears. A feeling becomes behaviour: not "she is upset" but "she sets the cup down too hard".
  • Every scene is a small fight. Someone wants something specific, something is in the way, and by the last line a value has changed.
  • Enter late, leave early. The scene starts in the middle of the situation and stops on the turn or on an image, never on a summary or a moral.
  • Subtext. Characters speak to deflect, win, hide or wound. Nobody states the theme, and nobody says what the other already knows.
  • Its own voice for each person. Cover the names and you should still know who is speaking.
  • Fresh details. Names that fit the place, props that belong to one character, and a list of phrases it never writes, such as "suddenly" or "little did he know".

It will not be perfect on the first run. Treat it as a first draft with good bones: run it again for another version, change the idea, or take it into the editor and rewrite it.

Which script do you need?

This page writes general screenplay pages. If you know what kind of script you want, a tool built for it will give a better result:

From one scene to a whole script

Continue in the AI Script Writer to keep going: the same pages open in the screenplay editor of a studio project.

Open the AI Script Writer

The tool above writes a few pages. The AI Script Writer in the studio is where a script gets finished: a screenplay editor that keeps the format for you, Script chat for questions about your story, notes from the AI Script Doctor that say what is wrong and how to fix it, characters and versions, and script to film. Longer work there is priced in credits, and the price shows before you run it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI script writer free?

Yes. You can write 3 scripts a day without an account and 20 a day with a free one. Longer work in the AI Script Writer is priced in credits, and the price shows before you run it. New accounts also get 40 free trial credits to try the rest of Ziztu.

How long a script can it write?

About three pages: a scene of one page, a short film, a sketch or a 30-second ad. That is enough to see whether the idea has legs. For a longer script, continue in the AI Script Writer and go on scene by scene, or plan a feature first with the AI movie script generator.

Who owns the script it writes?

You do, as far as the law and the model providers' terms allow (see the Terms of service). AI text can resemble existing works, so check that you have the rights you need before you use it commercially. Ziztu does not train AI models on your content.

Does it keep the names and details I give it?

Yes. The writer treats everything in your idea as fixed: names, places, relationships, objects and the ending. It fills the gaps and does not rename or drop anything.

What format are the scripts in?

Standard screenplay format. You can copy the text, download it as Fountain (a plain-text format that Final Draft, Highland, Fade In and other editors read) or as a PDF in the screenplay layout, or open it in the AI Script Writer.

Can it write in other languages?

Yes. It writes in the language of your idea. The scene headings keep the INT. and EXT. convention.

What happens to my idea?

It is sent to the AI model provider that writes the script, and your last result is kept in your own browser so a refresh does not lose it. Nothing you type here is posted anywhere.

Free: 3 scripts a day without an account, 20 with one.
