The best free TikTok transcript generator in 2026 is Ziztu's TikTok Transcript Generator. Paste a public TikTok link and it returns the words with a time on every line, uses the video's captions when there are some, and listens to the sound when there are none. Captions need no login; listening to the sound uses credits, shown before you start. Supadata, YouTubeToTranscript, SocialCrawl and TokScript are worth knowing too, and TokScript is the better pick if you want to pull many videos at once.

How do the five tools compare?
Every row comes from the tool's own page, read on 2 November 2026.
| Tool | What you paste or upload | Free limits | Output formats | Sign-up needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ziztu | A public TikTok link, short links included | Captions free, no account; speech to text uses credits, shown first; repeat videos are instant | On screen, .txt, .srt, .vtt; times on or off | Only for speech to text |
| Supadata | A TikTok link, short links included | Web tool free and rate limited; API tier has 100 free requests a month | Copy, TXT, SRT; timestamp for every line | No |
| YouTubeToTranscript | A tiktok.com or vm.tiktok.com link | No limit stated; "free, works in your browser" | TXT or SRT, with or without timestamps | No |
| SocialCrawl | A full video link or a share link | A free allowance of 100 credits, no card, no count per credit stated | Transcript, AI summary, SRT, VTT | No |
| TokScript | A TikTok, Reels or Shorts link | 5 a day on the free plan | TXT, XML, JSON, CSV | No login to download a transcript |
The question a table cannot answer is what each tool does when the video has no captions. That is covered in each entry below.
1. Ziztu: best free TikTok transcript generator for most people
Ziztu's TikTok transcript tool does the job in three steps. In the app, tap Share, then Copy link. Paste it, even a short vm.tiktok.com link. Press Get transcript and copy the words or save them as .txt, .srt or .vtt.
Why it ranks first:
- Captions first, speech second. When a TikTok has its own caption track, Ziztu uses it, which is instant. When it does not, the sound is turned into text with the Whisper large-v3 model. Both cases end in the same transcript.
- A time on every line. You see exactly where the hook ends and the call to action begins, or you switch the times off for plain text.
- A clear price. Videos with captions, and videos someone already ran, are free. Turning the sound into text uses credits, shown before you start.
- Next steps on the same page. A summary, five hooks for a new video on the same topic, or a caption you can post, each reading only the text you got and using a few credits, shown before you start.
- Nothing kept but the text. The video is never saved, and the finished text is kept for 30 days.
Where it is weaker: it reads public TikToks only, so private accounts and follower-only videos cannot be read, and a photo post has no speech to transcribe. The listening limit is 3 minutes. For a longer video without captions, download the file and use the video to text converter, which takes up to 10 minutes. It also does not offer bulk import or an extension, which TokScript does.
2. Supadata: best for a developer API and 100 languages
Supadata's TikTok page takes every TikTok link format, including vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com, m.tiktok.com and tiktok.com/t/ short links, with no sign-up and no app. You can copy the text, download TXT or SRT, and show a timestamp for every line.
It says transcripts come out in the language spoken, detected automatically, across 100+ languages, and that an AI fallback writes the text for videos without native captions. The reason to choose it over Ziztu is the API: the page offers "100 free requests per month" with no card, plus Python and TypeScript SDKs and Make, Zapier and n8n integrations. The web tool is free but rate limited, and the page says private, deleted and private-account videos cannot be transcribed. It lists no .vtt file and no follow-up steps.
3. YouTubeToTranscript: best for captions and a free English translation
YouTubeToTranscript's TikTok page is the simplest of the five. It takes tiktok.com and vm.tiktok.com links, needs no sign-up, and gives you the transcript to read, copy or download as TXT or SRT, with or without timestamps. The page states no limits and calls the tool free.
Two details matter. It offers a free "Translate to English" button when TikTok provides a translation, which is handy for watching foreign videos. And its page says the transcript comes from TikTok's own captions, so a video with no captions has "nothing to show yet". That is the main difference from Ziztu and Supadata: if the creator never turned captions on and TikTok did not make any, this tool comes back empty, where the others listen to the audio. Use it for the fast, captions-only case.
4. SocialCrawl: best if you want one API for many platforms
SocialCrawl's TikTok page is a free web tool on top of a developer product. The tool takes a full /video/ link or a vm.tiktok.com share link, says "Free, no login required", and returns the transcript, an AI summary, and SRT and VTT subtitle files. It says it transcribes what is said in the clip, voiceovers and fast talkers included, not the burned-in captions.
The API side is what sets it apart. The page offers a free allowance of "100 credits" with no card, one key for every platform, and a count of 69 platforms. It does not say how many transcripts a credit buys or which languages come out, so check its pricing page before you plan on volume. Pick it when TikTok is one source among many in a data pipeline.
5. TokScript: best for bulk work and a Chrome extension
TokScript works as a website and as a Chrome extension. Paste a TikTok, Reels or Shorts link, or use the extension to copy a transcript to the clipboard or download it as a .txt file. The free plan says "5 / day", and the page says no login is needed to download a transcript.
Its edge is volume. The page offers bulk import of up to 50 video links at once and bulk export, with TXT, XML, JSON and CSV downloads, which none of the other four list. That is the right shape for a marketer collecting the scripts of top videos in a niche. One thing to check: the page's FAQ says that if a creator has disabled the platform's auto transcription, TokScript cannot download it, which suggests it relies on the platform's captions. Ziztu listens to the audio when captions are missing.
How did we pick the best TikTok transcript generator?
This list is published on Ziztu's blog, so Ziztu is held to the same table as the rest. We ranked on four things:
- Videos without captions. Most TikToks have no caption track you can copy, so a tool that cannot listen is limited.
- Limits and prices you can plan around. A stated number beats "free" with no detail.
- Output you can use. Times on every line, .srt and .vtt for subtitles, plain text for notes.
- Steps from link to text. No login, no install.
For every tool, Ziztu included, we compared what its own page says, read on 2 November 2026; we did not run a test video through each. Pages change, so recheck a limit before you build a workflow on it. Wayin was on our shortlist, but its page would not load for us, so we left it out rather than guess.
Which tool should you pick?
- One TikTok, fast, even with no captions: Ziztu.
- Many TikToks at once, or a browser extension: TokScript.
- An API for code: Supadata or SocialCrawl.
- A captioned video, with a free English translation: YouTubeToTranscript.
- A longer video or a file you saved: Ziztu's video to text converter, or the SRT generator for subtitles.
Once you have the words, use them. Run the transcript through the video hook generator for ten new openers, follow the step by step in how to get the transcript of a TikTok video, or see the Instagram version of this list if you also study Reels. Starter is $7 a month for 4,800 credits.
