What stickman animation is
Stickman (stick figure) animation uses the simplest possible character: a circle for a head and single lines for the body, arms and legs. Because there is almost nothing to draw, all the attention goes to timing, movement and the joke. It has been a staple of internet animation for more than twenty years, from Flash-era fights to Alan Becker's "Animator vs. Animation" (2006), and free tools like Pivot Animator taught a generation to animate.
On Shorts and Reels, stick figures are everywhere because they read instantly on a phone. Three looks dominate, and Reel Factory has all three:
- Doodle gags: rough hand-drawn stickmen on paper, wobbling lines, horror or gross-out timing ("me when the fridge hums at midnight"). Reference accounts in this look have single videos past 80 million views.
- Glossy 3D comparisons: white 3D stick figures in a black void, a red accent, two choices side by side ("planner versus starter"). The reference account here, Neuron Visuals, has posts near 100 million views.
- Night stickman stories: flat navy night scenes, a pale stick figure and a glowing-eyed shadow, "rules for the night" storytelling.

How to make a stickman animation with AI
- Start on this page. The doodle look is picked; switch to the 3D comparison or the night story if it fits better.
- Write one sentence. A relatable moment, a comparison or a rule: "A stickman explains why you can't tickle yourself."
- Set 15 to 40 seconds. Doodle gags are fast; comparisons and night stories are slower.
- Preview the script for free and change any beat.
- Press Generate. You get the stick figure scenes, a voice, captions and music or a drone, as one MP4.
The three looks, in plain words
| Look | Medium | Pace | Ending |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doodle gags | rough hand-drawn ink, paper grain, glowing eyes in the dark | very fast bursts, about 2 s a beat | cut to black on the punchline |
| 3D comparisons | glossy white figures in a black void, mirror floor, one red accent | slow, about 4 s a beat | a silent hold on the result |
| Night stories | flat vector night rooms, moonlight, a shadow with glowing eyes | slow, about 4 s a beat | asks viewers to choose and comment |
Tips
- One joke or one contrast per video. Stickmen are minimal; the idea carries it.
- Use sound. A single sting or a silence before the punchline does the work.
- Captions short and big. One to four words at a time.
