Example outputs

16:9, show podcast cover photo, bold white title at the bottom

1:1, dark gradient background, orange waveform, artist name in the center

9:16, landscape photo, waveform near the bottom, track title at the top

How it works

1

Upload your audio file (MP3, WAV or M4A, up to 10 minutes and 50 MB). The file is uploaded securely for conversion and deleted after you download the MP4.

2

Add a background: drop in an image (up to 10 MB) or pick a solid color. Turn on the waveform to show the audio as an animated bar chart, and type an optional title.

3

Click Convert. Our server builds a standard MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio) in a few seconds. When it is ready, click Download to save the file.

Why turn an MP3 into an MP4?

Most platforms accept video files but reject plain audio uploads. YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook all require a video file. Wrapping your audio in an MP4 with a static image is the standard workaround for publishing podcasts, song clips, audiobooks, sermons and spoken-word content to those platforms.

The approach is also practical for sharing on messaging apps. An MP4 plays inline in WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram and most web browsers. A raw MP3 file does not always play inline and may force the recipient to download it first.

Tips for a better result

  • Use a high-resolution image: for a 16:9 video, a 1920 x 1080 or larger JPEG works best. A low-resolution image looks soft when the video is played at full size on a monitor.
  • Keep the title short: long titles wrap awkwardly at small font sizes. Two to five words work better than a full sentence.
  • Match the background to the mood: a dark gradient or a moody photo works well for music. A clean branded image works better for podcasts and spoken-word content.
  • Check the audio loudness before converting: if the audio is very quiet or very loud, adjust it in a DAW or use an online normalizer before adding the image. The converter does not change the audio level.

What happens to your files

Your audio and image are uploaded over HTTPS and converted on our server with ffmpeg. The MP4 is ready to download in seconds, and both your files and the MP4 are deleted as soon as you download it. Anything left behind is deleted within 1 hour.

Limits keep the tool free for everyone: audio up to 10 minutes and 50 MB, images up to 10 MB, and up to 5 conversions an hour. No account is needed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an MP3 to MP4 with an image online for free?

Use the tool on this page. Upload your MP3, drop in a background image or pick a color, then click Convert. Our server makes the MP4 in seconds and deletes your files after download. There is no sign-up and no credit card required.

Is my audio file uploaded to a server?

Yes, briefly. Your audio and image are uploaded over HTTPS, converted on our server, and deleted as soon as you download the MP4. Anything not downloaded is deleted within 1 hour. We never use your files for anything else.

What aspect ratio should I use?

Use 16:9 for YouTube, podcast feeds and most websites. Use 9:16 for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels. Use 1:1 for Instagram posts, LinkedIn and Twitter.

What audio formats are supported?

MP3, WAV and M4A (AAC). OGG and FLAC are not supported. If you have an OGG or FLAC file, convert it to MP3 with Audacity or another free tool first.

Which browsers work?

Any modern browser works, on desktop or mobile: Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. The conversion happens on our server, so the result is always a standard MP4.

Can I add a waveform to my MP4?

Yes. Turn on the waveform option before clicking Convert. The tool draws an animated bar waveform from the actual audio data and bakes it into the video.

How long does the conversion take?

A 3-minute track with a static image background usually converts in a few seconds. Longer audio, a waveform or a busy hour can take up to a minute.

Can I use this to upload a podcast to YouTube?

Yes. Choose 16:9, upload your podcast cover art as the image, add your episode title, and convert. Upload the resulting MP4 directly to YouTube. This is a common way to publish podcast episodes as YouTube videos.

Is there a watermark on the video?

No. The converter adds no watermark. The only text on the video is the optional title you type yourself.

Can I make an AI video ad from my audio?

This tool creates a simple video from a static image and audio. To make a full AI video ad with visuals that match your script, see the AI video ad maker.
