AI Video Price Index

Per-second and per-image provider prices and Ziztu credits, generated from live pricing data each time this page loads.

How it works

1

The table on this page is built when the page loads, from the same price list the Ziztu server uses to charge for every request. It is never manually edited, so the numbers you see match what Ziztu actually charges.

2

Provider prices are the raw fal.ai and OpenRouter API costs. Ziztu credits are calculated at the standard margin: provider price, plus a 10% buffer for API variability, then doubled to maintain the minimum 50% gross margin.

3

This page is updated at least once a month. The last-updated date on each table row reflects when that entry was last verified. Use these figures as a guide, not a contractual rate: API providers change prices without notice.

How to read this price index

The table shows the cost of one unit of output for each model available on Ziztu. For video models, the unit is one second of output video at a given resolution. For image models, the unit is one generated image. For audio models, the unit varies (seconds for sound effects, minutes for music, characters for TTS).

Two price columns are shown: the provider price (the raw API cost Ziztu pays) and the Ziztu credit cost (what you spend when using the tool). The credit cost is higher because it includes a 10% buffer for API price variability and a margin that funds the platform.

The last-updated date reflects when each row was last verified against the provider's published API pricing. Provider prices can and do change without notice. If you notice a discrepancy, report it on the contact page.

Methodology

All prices on this page come from the same price list the Ziztu server uses to calculate credit costs when a job starts. No prices are manually entered on this page.

Provider prices are sourced from fal.ai model pages and OpenRouter's pricing API, checked at least once a month. Where fal reports a flat per-second rate (as for Kling), that rate is marked as fixed and does not change with the live-pricing refresh. Where fal reports token-based pricing (as for Seedance), the rate is computed from the published per-token price multiplied by the video token count formula.

The Ziztu credit calculation follows the formula: credits = ceil(providerPrice * 1.1 * 2 / 0.0089). The 1.1 is the provider buffer, the 2 is the 2x margin multiplier and 0.0089 is the USD value of one credit. This ensures Ziztu achieves at least 50% gross margin on every generation, which is required to maintain the platform.

Competitor prices are not included in this index. AI tool pricing changes too frequently for a third-party comparison to remain accurate. For competitive pricing, check each provider's own pricing page directly.

Understanding AI video generation economics

AI video generation is significantly more compute-intensive than image generation. Generating 5 seconds of 480P video with MiniMax H3 Turbo costs about $0.13 at API prices. Generating 5 seconds of 1080P video with Kling v3 Pro costs about $0.84.

For context, a 60-second AI video at standard quality (MiniMax H3 Turbo 480P) costs about $1.50 at API prices. The same length of human production-quality video (a director, actors, a location and an editor) costs a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. AI video is already 100 to 1,000 times cheaper, and the quality gap is closing each quarter.

Ziztu uses credits, so you see the cost of each request before you run it. Credits come with monthly plans (the Starter plan works out to $0.012 a credit) or top-up packs. A Starter plan at $12 per month includes 1,000 credits, which covers about 160 seconds of 480P H3 Turbo video or about 140 Seedream images.

Frequently asked questions

How much does AI video generation cost?

Costs vary by model and resolution. As of October 2026, standard-quality video models cost between $0.025 and $0.168 per second of output at API prices. A 5-second clip costs between $0.13 (MiniMax H3 Turbo at 480P) and $0.84 (Kling v3 Pro). Ziztu credits add a buffer and margin on top of the raw API price.

How are Ziztu credits calculated from provider prices?

The price list counts one credit as $0.0089. The provider price gets a 10% buffer, is doubled, then divided by $0.0089 and rounded up. The server runs the same calculation for every request.

Which AI video model is the cheapest?

MiniMax H3 Turbo at 480P is the most affordable video model on Ziztu, at $0.025 per second (about 31 credits for a 5-second clip). For image generation, Meta Muse Image is the lowest cost at $0.01 per image (3 credits).

Why does Kling cost more than MiniMax?

Kling v3 uses a fundamentally different architecture than H3 Turbo. It is better for photorealistic motion, motion control (dance effects) and lip sync. The higher cost reflects higher compute requirements. H3 Turbo is better value for anime-style clips and image-to-video effects.

Does the price change when I use higher resolution?

Yes. Most video models bill at a higher rate for 768P and 1080P than for 480P. The table on this page shows the per-second cost at each resolution for models where it applies. MiniMax H3 Turbo at 1080P costs $0.08 per second, more than three times its 480P rate.

Do AI image generator prices change over time?

Yes. API providers adjust prices frequently. This page is updated monthly to reflect current provider pricing. The table is generated from Ziztu's live pricing data, so numbers are as current as the most recent update. Always check the provider's own pricing page before making large-scale production decisions.

How much does ElevenLabs TTS cost per word?

ElevenLabs Eleven Multilingual v4 costs $0.08 per 1,000 characters at API prices. The average spoken word in English is about 5 characters, so 1,000 words costs roughly $0.40 at provider prices. Ziztu charges about 20 credits per 1,000 characters.
