Seedance 2.5
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's video model for long takes. It makes clips of 4 to 30 seconds with sound from text, a first frame or up to 50 reference files, and it can also edit or extend a clip.
What Seedance 2.5 is
Seedance is ByteDance's family of AI video models. Seedance 2.5 is the newest one, and the one that makes the longest clips: up to 30 seconds in one take, with generated sound.
What it is good at
- Long takes: one generation runs up to 30 seconds, so a scene does not have to be stitched together from short clips.
- Reference control: pictures, video clips and audio can all guide the shot, and you point to them in the prompt as @Image1, @Video1 and @Audio1.
- Sound comes with the picture: effects, ambience and lip-synced speech are generated together, and you can switch the sound off.
Honest limits
- The shortest clip is 4 seconds.
- Image to video follows the shape of your picture, so the aspect ratio setting does not apply there.
- Reference videos and audio clips must each be 1.8 to 30.2 seconds long, and all reference files together stay at 50 or fewer.

Use the free credits to write the script, cast the characters, plan the storyboard, make voices and make cheap pictures first.

Prompts to try on Seedance 2.5
Copy a prompt, or press Try it to open the generator with the model and the prompt in place.
A woman in a yellow raincoat walks through a night market after the rain. The camera follows her from behind, then circles to her face as she tastes a skewer and smiles. Neon signs reflect in the puddles. Soft chatter and sizzling.
Makes: A 10 second follow shot that ends on a close-up, with market sound.
A young chef with a shaved head plates a dessert in a small, bright kitchen. Slow push-in on his hands, then a cut to him serving it to a guest, who says "Oh, this is perfect." Warm light, quiet restaurant sound.
Makes: Two beats in one take, with a spoken line the model lip syncs.
An elderly man in a green cardigan feeds pigeons on a park bench in autumn. Leaves fall around him. The camera rises slowly over the trees to show the whole park at golden hour.
Makes: A calm reveal that starts close and ends wide.
Two sisters in matching red coats build a snowman in a sunny schoolyard, laughing. They put a scarf on it, step back and cheer. Handheld camera, bright winter light, crunching snow.
Makes: A cheerful 8 second scene with ambient sound and no dialogue.
A girl with a blue backpack runs for a yellow tram, jumps on as the doors close and waves to her friend on the platform. Tracking shot from the street, morning light, bell and engine sounds.
Makes: A chase beat with a clear start, middle and end inside one clip.
A baker pulls a tray of golden croissants out of an oven, steam rolling over the camera. She sets one down in front of a child, who takes a huge bite. Close-up, warm tungsten light, soft music.
Makes: A food close-up with steam and a small reaction.
A boy in a paper crown stands on a hill at sunset and launches a kite. The camera starts at his feet and tilts up to follow the kite into an orange sky. Wind and distant laughter.
Makes: A simple tilt-up that shows the model's sense of space.
@Image1 sits at a cafe window and looks up as @Image2 walks in and waves. Medium shot, rain on the glass, warm light, soft jazz.
Makes: A reference to video shot with two named pictures (add your own pictures in the generator).
