AI Dialogue Generator
Say who is talking and what each person wants. This AI dialogue generator writes a scene where people push, deflect and say less than they mean.
Describe who is talking and press Write the dialogue.
How it works
- 01
Say who is talking
Two or three people, where they are and what each wants from the other. A single line is enough.
- 02
Choose a tone and a length
Natural, tense, funny, tender or cold, in about ten lines or about twenty.
- 03
Read the scene
It is written in screenplay format as it appears. Copy it, download it, or continue in the AI Script Writer to rewrite it.
What you get
People who want different things
Each speaker goes after something from the other and uses a tactic, so the scene has pressure instead of two people trading information.
Subtext, not speeches
There is one thing both people avoid saying, interruptions and half answers, and nobody explains how they feel.
Free to try
3 scenes a day with no account, 20 with a free one. Copy the lines, download Fountain or PDF, or continue in the full writer.
Who it's for
Screenwriters and playwrights
Get a version of a scene to push against when your own dialogue sounds too neat or too much alike.
Fiction writers
See how people interrupt, dodge and answer the wrong question, then bring the rhythm into your prose.
Game and animation writers
Draft a cutscene or a character conversation with a clear goal for each speaker and lines short enough to record.
What the example shows
The example above is a real result of this tool, written from the idea in the box. Nothing was edited after it came back.
Look at what the sisters never say. The argument is about a bread knife, a drawer and a phone cord. The real subject, who was there when their mother called, comes out as a question about a garage.
What makes dialogue read as real
- Every line is an action. A person speaks to get something: to deflect, bargain, wound, confess or hold something back. A line that only gives information is a line to cut.
- One thing goes unsaid. Both people know it and avoid it. The scene is the pressure of that silence.
- A reversal in the middle. The one who was pushing is pushed back, so the scene is not one note.
- People do not answer cleanly. They interrupt, answer a question with a question, answer a different question, or say less than they know.
- Short lines. Most lines are a few words. Nobody makes a speech longer than two sentences.
- Each voice is its own. Cover the names and you should still know who is speaking.
How to get better dialogue from the tool
- Give each person a want. "One wants to sell the house, the other cannot let go of it" works because the two wants collide.
- Name the relationship. Sisters, a father and a son, a detective and a witness: the history is already in how they talk.
- Set it in a place with objects. A kitchen, a car outside a school, a diner table. The objects give the characters something to do with their hands.
- Pick the tone that is not obvious. A tender scene between enemies or a funny one at a funeral often works better than the expected one.
For scripts, stories and games
The result comes in screenplay format, which suits scripts, stage plays and animation. For a story, take the lines and the beats of action and rewrite them as prose. For a game, the short lines and the clear want of each speaker are a good base for a cutscene. To go further, continue in the AI Script Writer, where the scene opens in the screenplay editor and you can ask the AI Script Doctor for notes. To write more than dialogue, use the AI script writer.
Frequently asked questions
Is this AI dialogue generator free?
Yes. You can write 3 scenes a day without an account and 20 a day with a free one. Longer work in the AI Script Writer is priced in credits, and the price shows before you run it. New accounts also get 40 free trial credits to try the rest of Ziztu.
How is this different from asking a chatbot for dialogue?
The writer is set up to work like a screenwriter. It gives each person a goal and a tactic, keeps one thing unsaid, builds in a reversal and keeps lines short. A general chat prompt tends to produce people who explain their feelings to each other.
Can I use it for a novel or a short story?
Yes, as a draft. The result is in screenplay format, with the speaker above each line and a few lines of action. Take the words and the rhythm, and write the tags and the narration in your own style.
Does it keep my characters' names and details?
Yes. Everything you write in the setup stays as you wrote it: names, relationships, places and objects. It fills in the rest.
Can it write dialogue for a video game or an animation?
Yes. Describe the characters and what each one wants. The lines come out short and playable, and you can continue in the AI Script Writer to turn the scene into shots for an animated film.
Who owns the dialogue it writes?
You do, as far as the law and the model providers' terms allow (see the Terms of service). Check that you have the rights you need before you use it commercially. Ziztu does not train AI models on your content.
Can it write in other languages?
Yes. It writes in the language of your setup. For the best result, write the setup in the language you want the dialogue in.
