Per finished clip the two are close: about $0.50 at Google Veo, and $0.37 at 480P or $0.60 at 768P at Ziztu, depending on the quality you pick. Credits are not the same unit across tools, so compare finished clips, not credit counts.
Google Veo figures from its own pricing, checked 14 October 2026. Source: Google Veo pricing page. Ziztu figures from the plans and credit costs shown before every generation; Starter is $12 for 1,000 credits. The check mark marks the lower cost.

Is Google Veo free?
Yes, for a small daily amount. With a Google account and no subscription you get 50 Google Flow credits a day, and Veo 3.1 is on the list of included models. At 20 credits for a Veo 3.1 Fast clip, that is two clips a day. The daily credits refresh after your first generation each day and do not roll over.
The free start has limits. Without a subscription you cannot generate video from about 2 PM to 5 PM UTC, and 1080p upscaling is not available. The Gemini API has no free tier for Veo: it charges per second of video, and only for videos that generate. Google's plan prices vary by country; the dollar prices here are the ones on the Flow pricing page.
What a Flow credit buys
Flow charges credits per generation, not per request: one request can make two videos. Monthly plan credits do not roll over, and the 50 daily credits come on top of them. Cost below counts only the monthly credits, if you use them all.
| Generation | Credits (Ultra) | On AI Plus | On AI Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 Lite, 4 to 8 s | 10 (5) | $0.25 | $0.20 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 4 to 8 s | 20 (10) | $0.50 | $0.40 |
| Veo 3.1 Quality, 8 s | 100 | $2.50 | $2.00 |
| Gemini Omni Flash, 720p, 8 s | 12 | $0.30 | $0.24 |
That makes the monthly credits worth 10 Veo 3.1 Fast clips on AI Plus and 50 on AI Pro. Ultra accounts pay half the credits for Fast and Lite, and 4K upscaling costs 50 credits and is Ultra only.
Gemini API prices per second
For developers, the Gemini API prices Veo 3.1 per second of video with audio. Prices are on the paid tier; Veo is not on the free tier.
| Model and resolution | Per second | A 5 second clip | An 8 second clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 Lite, 720p | $0.05 | $0.25 | $0.40 |
| Veo 3.1 Lite, 1080p | $0.08 | $0.40 | $0.64 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p | $0.10 | $0.50 | $0.80 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 1080p | $0.12 | $0.60 | $0.96 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 4K | $0.30 | $1.50 | $2.40 |
| Veo 3.1 Standard, 720p and 1080p | $0.40 | $2.00 | $3.20 |
| Veo 3.1 Standard, 4K | $0.60 | $3.00 | $4.80 |
Veo and Ziztu: cost per clip
Ziztu does not run Veo, so this compares what a clip costs on each side. Ziztu's side is its rate card: Starter is $12 for 1,000 credits.
| Clip | Where | Credits | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 Lite, up to 8 s | Google AI Pro, Flow | 10 | $0.20 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, up to 8 s | Google AI Pro, Flow | 20 | $0.40 |
| Ziztu H3 Max Turbo, 5 s, 480P | Ziztu Starter | 31 | $0.37 |
| Ziztu H3 Max Turbo, 8 s, 480P | Ziztu Starter | 50 | $0.60 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 8 s, 720p | Gemini API | n/a | $0.80 |
| Ziztu H3 Max Turbo, 8 s, 768P | Ziztu Starter | 80 | $0.96 |
| Veo 3.1 Quality, 8 s | Google AI Pro, Flow | 100 | $2.00 |
On price, Google wins this one. A Veo 3.1 Fast clip of up to 8 seconds costs $0.40 from the monthly credits of a $19.99 plan, and Google adds 50 free credits a day. An 8 second clip on Ziztu costs more at both 480P and 768P, and they are different models, so the better clip is a matter of taste and the shot.
Where Ziztu is the better fit is not price per clip but the work around it: planning a whole film from one idea, a cast that stays the same, and a timeline for music, voice and captions.
What a finished episode costs
A clip price is not an episode price. Take one episode of 60 seconds: 12 shots of 5 seconds at 768P, 6 reference images for the cast, 8 spoken lines, one score cue and 5 Director chats to plan the shots.
On Ziztu Starter that is 713 credits, or $8.56, and it comes out as one cut with the same characters in every shot. Retakes cost extra: the 287 credits left in the month cover 5 of them. This is a worked example from the rate card, not a quote.
The same 60 seconds as 8 clips cost about $3.20 on Google Veo (Veo 3.1 Fast, a clip of up to 8 seconds, 20 credits, Google AI Pro, read from the official page on 14 October 2026). That is less than the Ziztu episode, but it is the clips only. The rest of the job is still to do: the script, the shot list, a cast that looks the same in every shot, the voices, the score and the cut. Each of those is another tool or another hour, and each handoff is a chance for a character to change face. On Ziztu they share one credit balance and one timeline.
Our pick for micro dramas and anime: Ziztu
If the job is an episode where the same characters appear in every shot, Ziztu is the pick: one idea in, a planned and finished cut out, on one credit balance. New Ziztu accounts get 40 free credits after email signup, no card, for scripts, character art, storyboards and voices. Animating shots into video starts on any plan.
- A whole micro drama or anime episode from one idea. The Director turns an idea or a script into a shot list, character sheets keep the cast the same from shot to shot, and clips, music, voice and captions sit on one timeline. See the AI micro drama generator and the AI anime video generator.
- Many models in one plan. H3 Max Turbo, Kling, Seedance and Grok video and several image models draw on one pool of credits, so a shot can use whichever model suits it.
- Credit packs with no plan. The smallest pack is 500 credits for $7, about 16 five second clips at 480P, and you do not need a subscription to buy it.
If Veo's look and native audio are what you need, use Google. The full price list is in the AI video price index, and the plans are on the pricing page. See the Sora and Veo comparison and the text to video tool.

Video, image, music and voice models draw from one credit balance, so you pick the right one for each shot instead of paying for Google Veo and a second tool.
