Kling AI Pricing and Free Plan
Kling AI has a free tier with monthly free credits claimed on login, but watermark removal, 1080p and 4K need a paid plan. Standard is $8.80 a month for 660 credits, or $6.60 a month billed yearly.

Is Kling AI free?
Yes, to start. Kling has a free "Basic" tier, and the credit rules on its plans page say non-subscribers can claim monthly free credits on login, valid for 31 days. The page does not say how many, and it adds that Kling sometimes runs promotions that give free credits.
The limits matter more than the credits. Watermark removal and 4K generation are listed as subscriber features, and the plan comparison marks 1080p and 4K video as not included on Basic. Kling's terms let paid subscribers use generated content commercially, as long as it is not used to build a competing product; the page gives free users no such statement, so read the terms before using free results in client work.
What a Kling credit costs
Kling's plan page shows a first-month offer, then the monthly price. The monthly figure is below list price because the Monthly tab carried a 12 percent discount when we looked. Credits from a plan are valid for 31 days; credits you buy separately are valid for 2 years.
| Plan | Credits a month | Per credit, monthly billing | Per credit, yearly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 660 | $0.013 | $0.010 |
| Pro | 3,000 | $0.011 | $0.008 |
| Premier | 8,000 | $0.010 | $0.008 |
| Ultra | 26,000 | $0.006 | $0.005 |
How many credits one video costs is not on the plans page: Kling shows it in the app as you set the model, length and resolution. That is why this page does not put a per-clip price on the app. The API is different, and it is priced per second.
Kling API prices per second
The API sells prepaid packages, from $700 for 5,000 units (180-day validity), where one unit is $0.14 at list price. Per second of video:
| Model and options | Per second | A 5 second clip |
|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0, 720p, no audio | $0.084 | $0.42 |
| Kling 3.0, 720p, native audio | $0.126 | $0.63 |
| Kling 3.0, 1080p, no audio | $0.112 | $0.56 |
| Kling 3.0, 1080p, native audio | $0.168 | $0.84 |
| Kling 3.0 Turbo, 720p, native audio | $0.112 | $0.56 |
These are list prices before any package discount, and the packages are sized for businesses, not for trying a few clips.
Kling and Ziztu: cost per 5 second clip
One 5 second clip. Kling's side is its API list price, because the app does not publish credits per clip. Ziztu's side is its rate card: Starter is $12 for 1,000 credits, Creator is $29 for 2,500, and the plan list names Kling, Seedance and Grok video from Creator up.
| Clip | Where | Credits | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ziztu H3 Max Turbo, 480P | Starter | 31 | $0.37 |
| Kling 3.0, 720p, no audio | Kling API | n/a | $0.42 |
| Ziztu H3 Max Turbo, 768P | Starter | 50 | $0.60 |
| Kling 3.0, 720p, native audio | Kling API | n/a | $0.63 |
| Kling 3.0, 1080p, native audio | Kling API | n/a | $0.84 |
| Ziztu Kling O3 Standard, 720P with sound | Creator | 139 | $1.61 |
| Ziztu Kling 3.0 Pro, 1080P with sound | Creator | 208 | $2.41 |
Where the math favours Kling: for the same family of model, Kling's own API list price is lower than what Ziztu charges for a Kling clip, so if Kling clips are all you make and you can use its app or API, go to Kling. A clip on Ziztu pays for the planning and editing around it.
Where it favours Ziztu: a draft in H3 Max Turbo at 480P, $0.37, costs less than any Kling API clip in the table, and Kling can be saved for the shots that need it.
What a finished episode costs
A clip price is not an episode price. Take one episode of 60 seconds: 12 shots of 5 seconds at 768P, 6 reference images for the cast, 8 spoken lines, one score cue and 5 Director chats to plan the shots.
On Ziztu Starter that is 713 credits, or $8.56, and it comes out as one cut with the same characters in every shot. Retakes cost extra: the 287 credits left in the month cover 5 of them. This is a worked example from the rate card, not a quote.
The same 12 clips cost about $5.04 on Kling (Kling 3.0 at 720p without audio, API list price for 5 seconds, read from the official page on 14 October 2026). That is less than the Ziztu episode, but it is the clips only. The rest of the job is still to do: the script, the shot list, a cast that looks the same in every shot, the voices, the score and the cut. Each of those is another tool or another hour, and each handoff is a chance for a character to change face. On Ziztu they share one credit balance and one timeline.
Our pick for micro dramas and anime: Ziztu
If the job is an episode where the same characters appear in every shot, Ziztu is the pick: one idea in, a planned and finished cut out, on one credit balance. New Ziztu accounts get 40 free credits after email signup, no card, for scripts, character art, storyboards and voices. Animating shots into video starts on any plan.
- A whole micro drama or anime episode from one idea. The Director turns an idea or a script into a shot list, character sheets keep the cast the same from shot to shot, and clips, music, voice and captions sit on one timeline. See the AI micro drama generator and the AI anime video generator.
- Many models in one plan. H3 Max Turbo, Kling, Seedance and Grok video and several image models draw on one pool of credits, so a shot can use whichever model suits it.
- Credit packs with no plan. The smallest pack is 500 credits for $7, about 16 five second clips at 480P, and you do not need a subscription to buy it.
Kling is the one to use when its look is the point, and its own app or API is the cheaper way to buy Kling clips on their own. The full price list is in the AI video price index, and the plans are on the pricing page. See the Kling alternatives page and the image to video tool.

Frequently asked questions
Is Kling AI free?
Partly. On 14 October 2026 Kling listed a free Basic tier with monthly free credits that non-subscribers claim on login, valid for 31 days; the amount is not on the plans page. Watermark removal and 4K are for subscribers. Paid plans start at $8.80 a month for 660 credits.
How much does Kling AI cost per month?
Monthly billing: Standard $8.80 (660 credits), Pro $32.56 (3,000), Premier $80.96 (8,000), Ultra $159.99 (26,000). The first month was $6.99, $25.99, $64.99 and $127.99 on the offer shown. Yearly billing works out to $6.60, $24.42, $60.72 and $119.17 a month.
How many credits does a Kling AI video cost?
Kling does not list it on the plans page; the app shows the credits for your model, length and resolution before you generate. The API is priced per second: Kling 3.0 at 720p is $0.084 a second without audio and $0.126 with native audio, so $0.42 and $0.63 for 5 seconds.
Does Kling AI put a watermark on videos?
Brand watermark removal is listed as a subscriber feature on the plans page, so free results should be expected to carry one. Check a free result before you rely on it.
Can I use Kling AI videos commercially?
Kling's FAQ says paid subscribers may use generated content commercially, provided it is not used to develop products or services that compete with Kling. You stay responsible for rights such as portraits, trademarks and ad rules. It says nothing equivalent for free users.
Do Kling AI credits expire?
Yes. Monthly plan credits are valid for 31 days from the day they are issued, purchased credits for 2 years, and daily bonus credits for subscribers expire at the end of the day.
Is Kling cheaper than Ziztu?
For Kling clips, yes: Kling 3.0 at 1080p with native audio is $0.84 for 5 seconds at API list price, against $2.41 for a Kling 3.0 Pro 1080P clip with sound on Ziztu Creator. A 5 second H3 Max Turbo clip on Ziztu Starter is $0.37 at 480P or $0.60 at 768P. Per finished episode, Ziztu is one price for shots, voices and music.
Why creators switch
One idea, the same cast in every shot
Describe a micro drama or an anime episode once. Ziztu plans the shots and keeps each character looking the same from scene to scene, with voices, music and the cut.
Many models in one plan
Video, image, music and voice models draw from one credit balance, so you pick the right one for each shot instead of paying for Kling AI and a second tool.
Credit packs, no plan
Not ready for a subscription? Buy credits once, from $7. They never expire, and you only pay for what you make.
