How it works

  1. 01

    Describe the episode

Who is in it and what happens, in a line or two. Names, places and props you give stay exactly as you wrote them.

  2. 02

Pick a genre and a length

Action, slice of life, romance, mystery, fantasy, mecha or horror, as a cold open of one page or an opening act of three.

  3. 03

Read it, then bring it to life

The script appears as it is written. Download it, or continue in the AI Script Writer and turn its scenes into an animated film.

What you get

Action you can draw

Set pieces are written as keyframes: one image per paragraph, with the camera angle named where it matters, not a paragraph of effects.

A hook and a closing image

The first five lines hook the viewer, and the last image makes the next episode necessary.

Free to try

Who it's for

  • Anime and animation creators

Get an episode opening with a clear structure to storyboard from, before you draw a frame.

  • Writers of original series

Test a premise as a pilot opening and see whether the world and the hook hold up on the page.

  • Short-film makers

Draft the script for an animated short with a few characters and a set piece, ready for the studio.

What the example shows

The example above is a real result of this tool, written from the idea in the box. Nothing was edited after it came back.

The characters and the setting are new: the tool is told not to reuse any existing anime, character or franchise. The action is staged as poses and cuts a storyboard artist can read, and each character has a visual hook, such as the net snood and the wrench on orange line.

How an anime script differs from a film script

  • A cold open. The episode starts mid-action or mid-mystery, inside the first page, before any title.
  • Action as keyframes. A fight or a chase reads as a sequence of poses and cuts, with the angle named when it matters: LOW ANGLE, CLOSE ON a hand, WIDE on the harbor.
  • A visual hook for each character. Hair, an outfit or a prop that a designer can draw and a viewer can remember.
  • Quick dialogue and silence. Lines are short. A held look can do the work of a line.
  • Inner monologue only as a short voice-over, and rarely. The feeling is shown through what a person does.
  • A last image that makes the next episode necessary. A reversal or a reveal, not a summary.

From the script to anime

Frequently asked questions

Is this anime script generator free?

Yes. You can write 3 episode openings a day without an account and 20 a day with a free one. Longer work in the AI Script Writer is priced in credits, and the price shows before you run it. New accounts also get 40 free trial credits to try the rest of Ziztu.

Can it write a whole episode?

It writes a cold open of about one page or an opening act of about three pages. A full episode is longer, so the rest is written in the AI Script Writer, scene by scene.

Does it copy existing anime or characters?

No. It writes new characters and settings from your idea and is told not to reuse any existing anime, character or franchise. Names fit the setting you describe.

Which genres can it write?

Action, slice of life, romance, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi and mecha, and horror. Each one has its own rules: a mystery gives the viewer a clue the characters cannot yet read, and a slice of life finds large stakes in a small gesture.

Can I turn the script into an animated video?

Yes. Continue in the AI Script Writer, where the scenes can be planned as shots, then use the studio's anime video tools to make them.

Who owns the script?

You do, as far as the law and the model providers' terms allow (see the Terms of service). Ziztu does not train AI models on your content.

Can it write in Japanese or other languages?

Yes. It writes in the language of your idea. The scene headings keep the INT. and EXT. convention.

Free: 3 episodes a day without an account, 20 with one.
