AI Micro Drama Ideas

AI micro drama ideas are one-sentence stories built for a vertical episode: a person, what she wants, what stands in the way and a last shot. This page has 60 free ideas across eight genres, each with the shot it opens on and the shot it ends on, and every one opens in Ziztu with its brief filled in.

One idea, one real episode

The Wrong Wedding, episode 1: 32 seconds, seven shots, three characters, made in Ziztu from one sentence.

9:16 ยท 32 s

The prompt that made it
A live-action vertical micro drama, episode 1: on her wedding day a bride reads a message on the groom's phone and walks down the aisle anyway, smiling. End on a cliffhanger when she takes the microphone.

A bride reads a message in the chapel doorway and smiles.

A cafe worker meets the man who steps out of the black car.

The Wrong Wedding began as one idea: on her wedding day a bride reads a message on the groom's phone and walks down the aisle anyway, and the episode ends when she takes the microphone. It runs 32 seconds in 7 shots, with the same bride, groom and chapel in every one. The ideas below have the same shape.

How to use these ideas

  1. Pick one that gives you a picture. If you can see its first shot and its last shot in your head, it is an episode. If you cannot, pick another.
  2. Press "Start this idea in Ziztu". The idea box opens with the brief filled in. Change the names, the place and the objects, and make the idea yours.
  3. Let the Director plan it. It proposes the cast and the shots, and you approve before any credits are spent. The 40 free credits cover script, cast and storyboard; video starts at $12.

Every idea has the same four parts, so you can write your own in the same shape: a person and what she wants, what stands in the way, the shot it opens on and the shot it ends on. The ideas are free to use. Each genre has a guide with the beats of a season and a full episode 1 shot plan: micro drama genres.

Write your own idea in one sentence

Use this shape: who, wants, but, and it ends on. For example: a caterer who needs one more shift, but the host has noticed her, and it ends on his hand held out in a silent room. Then add the shot it opens on, because that is what the Director builds the first shot from. Keep the people to two or three and the places to one or two: every face needs a character sheet and every place a reference.

  • Avoid ideas that need a crowd or a crash. A ballroom of faces and a car chase are the hardest shots to keep steady.
  • Put the hook in the first shot, not in the explanation. A glass tilting is a hook. A summary of the backstory is not.
  • End on a question the viewer can say in five words. "Whose signature is that?" is an ending. "What happens next?" is not.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good idea for a micro drama?

A good micro drama idea fits in one sentence and has a person, what she wants, what stands in the way and a last shot that leaves one question open. It needs a hook you can see in the first shot, such as a glass tilting or a lock turning, and a small cast in one or two places.

How many micro drama ideas can I use for free?

All sixty on this page are free to read, copy and use. Opening one in Ziztu puts its brief in the idea box. Free credits cover scripts, character art, storyboards, voices and sound. Animating shots into video starts on any plan. Free results carry a small watermark.

How do I turn an idea into an episode?

Open it in Ziztu with the Start button, change the names and details, and let the Director plan the cast and shots. Approve the plan, make a character sheet for each person, generate the shots and cut them with voices and music.

Which genre should I start with?

CEO romance, second chance or contract marriage. They live in two people and a few rooms, with medium shots and short lines, which is what AI video holds best. Werewolf is the hardest.

Can I make a whole series from one idea?

Yes. The genre guides give the beats of a ten episode season, and the series bible and episode outline templates turn one idea into a plan. Episode 1 is usually the idea; the rest is the season shape.

Can I change the names and places?

Yes, and you should. The ideas are starting points. Change the names, the setting and the objects until the story is yours, and keep the shape: a person, a want, an obstacle and a last shot.
