Made for Instagram Features

On 26 October 2026 Instagram announced its new feature for long videos, called Features: horizontal videos of up to 90 minutes that people can reach from shorter Reels and watch on the Instagram app or on a TV. Instagram tried it in Brazil first and is now testing it with select creators in the US.

This tool makes the long video: your own narrated film of 3 to 60 minutes in 16:9, in one look from the first shot to the last, ready to download and post.

Reported by TechCrunch, 9to5Mac and Social Media Today on 26 October 2026. Our guides: how long Instagram videos can be and Instagram's aspect ratios and sizes.

  • Horizontal 16:9 at 1080p
  • 3 to 60 minutes, any whole number
  • One look and one narrator from start to end
  • Thumbnails, titles and a description with chapter times

With Clips as Reels, you make Reels out of your Features video, and up to eight of them link back to it.

Every shot is drawn for the words over it

Six of the pictures this tool drew for a short film about the size of the universe, each with the line the narrator says over it.

  1. Earth as a small blue and white globe in black space0:00
“This film is a journey outward from Earth, the one small planet every person has ever lived on.”
  2. The Sun as a glowing orange ball in black space0:20
“The Sun is the next stop, about 150 million kilometres away.”
  3. Thousands of gold and white galaxies scattered across a dark void2:40
“Those lie inside Laniakea, a supercluster, or cluster of clusters, about 500 million light-years across.”
  4. A glass-like blue sphere holding a web of tiny galaxies2:51
“Past that boundary sits the observable universe, which is all the matter whose light has had time to reach us.”
  5. A field of distant galaxies thinning into dark space3:18
“So the farthest point we can see is around 46.5 billion light-years away.”
  6. One small spiral galaxy in a great deal of empty black space3:28
“The speck we left sits inside a cosmos too large to see whole, and that is the measure of where we stand.”

How to make a long Instagram video, step by step

Three steps from a link to a finished film. Nothing big is made until you say so.

  1. Paste a link or type an idea

A YouTube video that is working, or one sentence about your topic. A link is studied for how it is built: the title pattern, the hook, the chapters and the pace.

  2. Read the plan and the script

Pick a title, shape the chapters and change any line. An originality score shows how far your words are from the source.

  3. Pick a look, then make it

Choose the look and the narrator, approve a short look test, then make the film. The price in credits is on the button first.

All nine steps, in detail
  1. Paste a link or type an ideaPaste a YouTube link to a video that is working and the tool studies how it is built. Or type your own idea. You can also keep a video's structure and change the subject.
  2. PlanYou get title options in the pattern that works, the main idea and the chapters. Change anything. Nothing is written until you say so.
  3. Script, chapter by chapterEach chapter opens with a hook and ends on an open question. An originality score shows how far your words are from the source, passages that sit too close are marked, and one click rewrites them. Facts the writer is unsure of are flagged, and you can ask for a web check.
  4. Pick a look and a toneChoose one of 18 looks, from a flat cartoon explainer to oil paintings to a near-black tech look, and a tone such as straight documentary, warm storyteller or deadpan comedy.
  5. Pick a narratorChoose a voice, a pace and whether soft music sits under it. A look test shows the cast, four sample shots and a 20 second voice sample for a small fraction of the full price, so you approve the look first.
  6. Pictures, and maps when the story has geographyEvery shot gets a picture that fits what the narrator is saying. A map is drawn only for a stretch of the story that is about a place. Data cards and diagrams are drawn when numbers or a process carry the point.
  7. The editThe voice, the pictures, the music, the chapter titles and the on-screen labels are put together into one 1080p video.
  8. Titles, thumbnails and descriptionYou get title options, thumbnails, a description with chapter timestamps, tags, a pinned comment and an SRT captions file, with one zip of everything.
  9. Share or downloadDownload the MP4 and upload it yourself, or send a watch link that anyone with the link can open.

Before the film itself is made you see its price in credits for your length and quality, and you press the button to start it.

Then make the Reels that lead to it

Instagram's Clips as Reels lets you make Reels out of your Features video, and up to eight of them link back to the full film. Every chapter of a film from this tool opens with a hook, so the chapter starts are good moments to clip.

For new short videos about your topic, Reel Factory makes 9:16 Reels from one idea, with a voice, captions and music, in a style you pick. Here are four it made.

Open Reel Factory
Made with Reel Factory, 9:16. Tap the first to play it with sound.

Pick one of 18 looks and keep it for the whole film

One look carries every picture in the film, so a 40 minute video does not drift from one style to another. A film in the realistic look needs Instagram's AI label when you post it.

Real people and real places, shown the right way

When a film names a real person, you choose how they appear, and the tool starts from the choice that suits the look. You can change it for each person on the Plan screen.

  • Today's leaders, checked. A story about countries names who holds the office now, looked up on the web.
  • Real places too. Countries, cities, buildings and spacecraft can appear as real photos, with their credit.
  • Your own characters. Add up to 3 photos of someone you have the right to use, and they are drawn in your film's look.
  1. Drawn in the film's look

A character in the same style as every other picture, made recognisable by public features.

The default for stories, comedy and explainers.

  2. Their real photo

A real, freely licensed photo from Wikimedia Commons with a small credit line, shown as it is and never redrawn.

The default when the look is photographic, so an AI face never stands in for a real person.

  3. Both

The real photo when the narrator first says their name, then drawn scenes for the rest of the story.

The default for history, politics, news and biography in a drawn look.

Basic or Pro: the same story, more motion

Both tiers use the same writer, the same narrator voices and the same publish pack. The pictures and the motion are what change. Both are priced in credits by the length of the film, and the price is on the button before anything is made.

What is an AI Instagram video maker?

An AI Instagram video maker turns an idea or a link into a finished video: the script, the pictures, the narrator's voice and the edit. Ziztu's is an AI long video generator built for Instagram Features: horizontal films of 3 to 60 minutes, told in chapters and kept in one look from the first shot to the last. It runs in your browser, so there is no app to install.

It is the same tool as the AI YouTube Video Maker, so a film you make for Instagram works on YouTube too. You can also start from a YouTube video whose structure works, and the tool writes your own version of it with an originality score.

Pictures, maps and diagrams, only where the story needs them

The planner decides chapter by chapter what carries each part of the story. Most shots are pictures drawn for the words over them. A map is drawn from real borders only when the story is about a place, and data cards and diagrams are typeset in the film's colours when numbers, a comparison or a process make the point. Every word on screen is typeset by the tool, so it stays sharp on a phone and on a TV.

Faceless long videos for Instagram

A faceless video is one where nobody appears on camera: a narrator carries the story, and pictures, maps, data cards and diagrams follow it. History, explainers, true crime, science, money and bedtime stories are all made this way, and they suit the longer, TV-style viewing Instagram is building Features for. It is the video maker for Instagram creators who would rather not film themselves.

How to make and post a long video on Instagram

  1. Pick a topic your followers come to you for, or paste a link to a YouTube video in your niche that is working.
  2. Choose one look and one narrator, and keep them for every film so your videos feel like one show.
  3. Start with a 10 minute film and the look test. Both show their credits before anything is made.
  4. Read the script, fix the facts and add your own angle, then download the video, the thumbnails and the description.
  5. Post the horizontal video as a Feature if your account has Features, with Instagram's AI label when the film fits Meta's rule, then link up to eight Reels made from its best moments.

More on the method in our faceless channel workflow, which works the same way for Instagram.

Honest limits

  • It is a new tool. Expect to read the script and look at the pictures, and to redraw a shot you do not like.
  • Features is still a test. Instagram is trying it with select creators, so your account may not have it yet. The same film works on YouTube today.
  • The tool does not post to Instagram, and it does not cut Reels out of your film. You download the video and post it yourself, and make the Reels in Instagram or in Reel Factory.
  • A link works when it is a YouTube video whose captions can be read. If not, paste the transcript or start from an idea.
  • The pictures are AI images, not live footage, and facts can be wrong, so check the numbers you care about.
  • No tool can promise views, followers or income. What it gives you is a finished first version to improve.

Instagram's rules still apply

Your account follows Instagram's rules, whatever you use to make the video. Meta asks people to label a photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio that was digitally made or changed, AI included, and says it may apply penalties when such a post is not labelled. The label reads "AI info" on Instagram.

Films from this tool are made of AI pictures and an AI narrator, so add the AI label when your film fits that rule. Add your own research, point of view and voice to every film. The originality score helps with the script, but you are the author.

Questions

About Instagram Features, the Reels that link to it, IGTV, the AI label and what a film costs.

Updated

What is Instagram Features?

Features is Instagram's format for long, horizontal videos, announced on 26 October 2026. Instagram is testing videos of up to 90 minutes, which people can find through shorter Reels and watch on the Instagram app or on a TV. It was tried in Brazil first and is now being tested with select creators in the US.

How long can Instagram videos be now?

In Features, Instagram is testing horizontal videos of up to 90 minutes (announced on 26 October 2026). This tool makes films of 3 to 60 minutes, so every length it makes fits inside that.

Every Instagram video length limit, in our guide

What aspect ratio is Instagram Features?

Horizontal, widescreen like a TV or a YouTube video. Instagram had not published exact upload specs as of 27 October 2026. Films from this tool are 16:9 at 1080p (1920 by 1080), the standard widescreen size.

Instagram aspect ratios and video sizes, in our guide

How do I post a long video on Instagram?

Post it as a Feature, if your account has Features: Instagram is testing it with select creators, so check your app first. A film from this tool is a horizontal MP4 that you download and post yourself, and the same film works on YouTube while you wait.

How do Reels link to a Features video?

With Clips as Reels, you make Reels out of your Features video, and up to eight of them link back to it (Social Media Today, 26 October 2026). Every chapter of a film from this tool opens with a hook, which makes the chapter starts good moments to clip.

Is Features the new IGTV?

Not quite. IGTV was Instagram's earlier home for long videos: Instagram folded it into Instagram Video on 5 October 2021, and the IGTV app left the app stores in March 2022. Features is a new format, announced on 26 October 2026, for horizontal videos of up to 90 minutes that Reels can link to.

Can AI make long Instagram videos?

Yes. This tool writes the script, draws the pictures, records a narrator and edits a 3 to 60 minute horizontal film. You read and change the script before any picture is drawn, see the price in credits first, then download it and post it yourself.

What does "AI info" mean on Instagram, and do I need it?

AI info is the label Instagram shows on posts made or changed with AI; Meta renamed it from "Made with AI" on 1 July 2024. Meta asks you to add it to a photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio that was digitally made or changed, and may apply penalties when it is missing. Films from this tool use AI pictures and an AI narrator, so add it when your film fits that rule.

Is it the same as the AI YouTube Video Maker?

Yes. It is the same tool, with the same writer, looks, narrators and edit. This page shows how to use it for Instagram Features, and a film you make here works on YouTube too.

Is this Instagram video maker free?

It is free to start: new accounts get 400 free credits with no card. A film is priced in credits by its length and by Basic or Pro, you see the price before it is made, and credits start on any plan ($7 for 1,200 credits, one time).

Does the tool post to Instagram for me?

No. It makes the video, the thumbnails, title options and a description with chapter times. You download them and post the video yourself, so every film goes live only when you decide.
