Can You Monetize AI Micro Dramas?
You can monetize AI micro dramas on YouTube and TikTok if the channel meets each program's published rules and the content is original, not mass-produced. YouTube needs 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days. TikTok's Creator Rewards needs 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days. Nobody can promise earnings.

What the programs require
The published thresholds (read 15 October 2026)
| Program | What it asks for | Source |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Partner Program | 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months (long-form), or 1,000 subscribers and 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the last 90 days. Also: no active Community Guidelines strikes, 2-Step Verification on, a country where the program runs, an AdSense account and compliance with the channel monetization policies. Review typically takes about a month. | YouTube Help, YPP eligibility |
| TikTok Creator Rewards Program | Age 18 or over, at least 10,000 followers, at least 100,000 views in the last 30 days, and a personal account in good standing in a country where the program is available. It rewards high-quality, original content over a minute long. | TikTok Newsroom, 18 March 2024 |

The rule that matters most for AI: original, not mass-produced
YouTube changed the name of its repetitive-content policy to inauthentic content on 15 July 2025 to make clear that it covers content that is repetitive or mass-produced. Its channel monetization policies say content should be made for the enjoyment or education of viewers and not for the sole purpose of getting views, and list as a violation AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates, without the creator's original, authentic insights or perspective.
A micro drama series with its own story, its own characters and its own look is the opposite of that: an original work. What puts a channel at risk is publishing dozens of near-identical episodes from one template with only the names changed. To stay on the right side:
- Write your own story and cast. A series bible, a script and character sheets are proof of authorship.
- Vary the episodes. Each one should have its own turn, its own place and its own last shot.
- Add your own voice and edit. Lines, music, captions and cuts you choose are creative decisions.
- Label realistic AI content. It is a requirement, and it shows good faith.

What a series costs before the first payment
You pay to make a series before a program pays you. At list price on Starter, 30 episodes of 60 seconds cost about $216.00 for the clips at 768p (18,000 credits), or $135.00 at 480p, plus retakes, voices and music. That is far below the filmed budgets in AI vs filmed micro drama, and it is still a cost, spent before any threshold is met. The thresholds above need subscribers and watch time that come from episodes people finish, so judge each episode by whether it holds viewers.
A checklist before you apply
- You meet the numbers on the program page, today, in your own analytics.
- Your channel is a body of original episodes with their own story and cast, not near-copies.
- Realistic AI video is labeled on every episode.
- Your account has no active strikes and 2-Step Verification is on.
- You have read the current monetization policy, not a summary of it.
Other ways to earn, such as brand deals or licensing a series to an app, depend on your audience and on each buyer's terms. We do not quote figures for them. See micro drama apps for how the apps work.

Frequently asked questions
Can AI-generated videos be monetized on YouTube?
Yes, if the channel meets the Partner Program thresholds and follows the channel monetization policies. YouTube does not allow monetization of mass-produced or repetitive content, including AI content made from generic templates without the creator's own perspective, so a series needs its own story and cast.
What does YouTube require to monetize a channel?
One path is 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months. The Shorts path is 1,000 subscribers with 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the last 90 days. You also need no active strikes, 2-Step Verification, an eligible country and an AdSense account.
What does TikTok Creator Rewards require?
You must be 18 or over with at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days, hold a personal account in good standing in a country where the program runs, and post high-quality, original content over a minute long. Check the current terms for AI-generated content.
How much money can an AI micro drama make?
Nobody can say honestly. The programs do not publish what a view is worth for a given channel, and it depends on audience, country and content. This page quotes only what the platforms publish.
Is it allowed to make money from a series made with AI?
Yes, within each platform's rules: label realistic AI video, publish original work, do not mass-produce near-identical episodes and use invented characters. Every paid Ziztu plan includes commercial use of what you make.
Can I sell an AI micro drama to a micro drama app?
Each app sets its own rules for what it accepts and how it treats AI content, so check the app's creator or partner page. Ziztu does not submit to apps for you, and nobody can promise a sale.
