There is no single best AI video generator going into 2027, because "video" covers five different jobs, so we picked by job. For finished drama or anime episodes, we pick Ziztu. For Shorts and Reels, Reel Factory. For long faceless YouTube videos, the AI YouTube Video Maker or an editor such as Invideo AI. For one realistic clip with sound, Veo 3.1. For a talking presenter, HeyGen. Details, prices and limits are below.
We build Ziztu, so weigh that. We put Ziztu first only where we think it is the better fit, and we say where another tool is the better pick. These are the picks going into 2027, based on what each tool offered in late October 2026. The list will be updated as 2027 releases land. Every price for another tool comes from its own official page, and we give the date we read it. Where a page did not show a number, we left the number out. We did not subscribe to the other tools for this article, so the notes are about what each company says, not about how the videos turn out.
What changed in 2026
One big change: OpenAI shut down Sora. Its help center says the app was discontinued on April 26, 2026 and the API on September 24, 2026. If you built a plan around Sora, see our Sora alternatives page. The other change is that most tools now run several outside models. Pika runs Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0, Runway lists Kling 3.0, and Ziztu runs MiniMax H3, Kling, Seedance, Veo and more on one credit balance. So the question is less "which model" and more "which tool finishes my job".
How we picked
We asked one question for each job: how much of the finished video does the tool take care of? We looked at four things.
- What it makes. One clip, a short, a long film, an episode or a presenter.
- What you still do by hand. Writing, checking facts, choosing the look, editing, uploading.
- What it costs when you make video often, not once.
- Its honest limit. Every tool has one, and we list it.
The picks at a glance

| Long faceless YouTube videos | AI YouTube Video Maker (Ziztu) | Invideo AI, Pictory |

| AI presenter | HeyGen | Synthesia |
Job 1: finished drama or anime episodes
An episode is many shots with the same people in each one, plus voices, music and a cut. A tool that only makes clips leaves most of that to you.
Ziztu. You write one idea, a Director proposes the cast, the places and a shot list, and you make first frames and clips on one timeline. Character sheets keep the cast the same, and Identity lock (H3 Max References) sends the sheets with a clip when a face drifts. Voices, a score, captions and an MP4 export are in the same project. It runs several video models on one balance, so you can draft cheaply and spend more on the shots that matter. For anime, see the AI anime video generator and for series, the AI micro dramas guide.
- Price: a 5 second clip of H3 Max Turbo is 310 credits at 480p and 500 at 768p. A 60 second episode of twelve 768p clips is 6,000 credits, about $12.00 on Reel Factory Max, before first frames, voices and retakes. Plans start at $9 a week for 2,000 credits; Reel Factory is $39 a month for 10,000 credits and Reel Factory Max $100 for 50,000.
- Free: 400 free credits for scripts, character art, storyboards, voices and sound, plus your first 5 second video free, no card. More video starts at $9 a week.
- Limit: clips top out at 15 seconds on H3, you review every shot, and a hard shot such as two people touching can drift, so keep credits for a retake. It is not the cheapest way to buy one raw clip.
OpenArt (read 14 October 2026). Starter is $14 a month ($13 billed annually) for 4,000 credits. Its plans list a Director and One-Click Story Creation. Commercial use is listed from Plus up. The page lists no free plan.
LTX Studio (read 14 October 2026). Built around storyboards, saved Elements and camera controls. It lists a Free plan with 800 credits, one time. Lite is 15 euros a month (12 billed yearly) for 8,000 credits. Storyboards, saved Elements and the commercial license start on Standard.
Kling (read 14 October 2026). Kling's app lists Element AI Multi-Shot and saved elements. Standard is $8.80 a month (list price $10) for 660 credits, and a free Basic tier gives monthly free credits.

Job 2: Shorts and Reels, 30 to 60 seconds
**Reel Factory (Ziztu).** Best for explainer reels from one topic. You write a topic and pick one of more than 250 ready styles across 19 formats, such as claymation, papercraft, pixel art and blueprint. It writes the script and makes the moving pictures, a voice, word captions and music. Reels run from 15 seconds to 5 minutes, and one run makes up to 8 episodes in the same style.
- Your own look: Clone a format takes a YouTube or Instagram link and gives you an editable format for your own topic. Use my reel reads the look, pacing and captions of a reel you made. It copies the style, never the people, words or logos.
- Price: the exact credit price is on the Generate button before anything runs. A 30 second reel in the starting style is 1,190 credits in Basic. A step that fails is refunded.
- Control: you can preview the script free and edit every line before you generate.
- Limit: it makes explainer-style reels, so it does not post to YouTube for you, and it is built for explainer formats, not for dramas or anime episodes.
faceless.video (read 25 October 2026). Its home page says it can write, edit and post faceless videos on a schedule to connected TikTok, YouTube and Instagram accounts. Starter is $20 a month for 30 credits and up to 15 videos. The pricing page lists no free plan.
faceless.so (read 25 October 2026). A channel pipeline with auto-posting. One minute storyboard shorts cost a flat 20 credits. Starter is $24 a month billed yearly or $29 monthly, for 500 credits.
If posting on a schedule matters more to you than the look, either of those two may suit you better than Reel Factory. We go deeper on Shorts in our best AI Shorts generators list.
Job 3: long faceless YouTube videos
**AI YouTube Video Maker (Ziztu).** Best for narrated videos of 3 to 60 minutes. You paste a link to a video that works, or type an idea. It reads how that video is built and writes a new script in your own words, chapter by chapter. It shows an originality score, then you pick one of 18 looks, a tone and a narrator. It makes the narration, pictures, maps and edit as one video. *Price:* the tool shows a quote in credits for the whole film before you press make. *Limits:* it is a new tool, so we have no view or revenue results to quote and we will not invent any. A pasted link needs captions the tool can read. You download the file and upload it to YouTube yourself.
Invideo AI (read 25 October 2026). Best for describing an edit in plain words and reviewing the cuts. Basic is $9 per seat a month, or $4 billed yearly, for 190 credits, which its page says is about 7 Seedance 2 fast videos. Pro is $30 a month for 1,000 credits. No free plan, and unused credits do not roll over. See our Invideo alternative page.
Pictory (read 25 October 2026). Best for turning a script, a URL or an idea into a video with stock footage and AI voices. Starter is $29 a month, or $25 billed yearly, with a 14 day free trial. It includes 30 minutes of video a month.
Fliki (read 25 October 2026). Best for voice-heavy videos. The free plan is $0 for 3 credits a month, exports up to 5 minutes and adds a watermark. Standard exports up to 15 minutes and Premium up to 40.
For help choosing by video length, see our guide to the best AI video generators for faceless YouTube channels.
Job 4: single clips
If you want one clip and you will cut it yourself, the model matters more than the studio. Here the better pick is often not Ziztu.
- Veo 3.1 (Google): realistic clips with sound. On the Gemini API, Veo 3.1 Lite is $0.05 a second at 720p and $0.08 at 1080p, Fast is $0.10 at 720p, and Standard is $0.40 at 720p and 1080p. Google Flow gave 50 credits a day with a Google account (read 14 October 2026).
- Kling 3.0: realistic motion. The API is $0.084 a second at 720p without audio and $0.126 with native audio (read 14 October 2026). Anime and stylized looks depend on your first frame.
- Runway: an all-in-one studio. Free is 125 one-time credits. Standard is $15 a month ($12 billed yearly) for 625 credits, which is 52 seconds of Gen-4.5. See Runway alternatives.
- Hailuo: cheap MiniMax H3 seconds. Standard is $8.40 a month billed yearly ($100.80 a year; list $14.99 monthly) for 1,000 credits, and its H3 clips at 768p work out to $0.059 a second billed yearly. See Hailuo alternatives.
- Pika and Higgsfield: cheap experiments. Pika Starter is $10 a month ($8 billed yearly) for 900 credits, and a 5 second Wan 3.0 clip is 33 credits. Higgsfield Basic is $9 a month for 120 credits, and its table lists Kling 3.0 at 720p at about 7 credits per 5 seconds. See Pika alternatives and Higgsfield alternatives.
Ziztu also sells these clips: Kling, Seedance, Veo, Runway and more are on one balance, with the price shown before you generate. See the AI video price index or try the text to video tool. On the prices we compared on 12 October 2026, Seedance and Kling clips cost several times more on Ziztu than on Pika or Higgsfield, so use Ziztu for single clips when you want everything on one balance, not when you want the lowest price.
What one 5 second clip costs
Credits mean something different on every tool, so here is one clip in dollars, from each tool's cheapest paid plan or its API (for Ziztu, Reel Factory Max at list price, its lowest price per credit). A lower price is not a better clip, because these are different models.
| Tool and model | One 5 second clip | Read |
|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 Lite, Gemini API, 720p | $0.25 | 14 Oct 2026 |
| Kling 3.0, API, 720p, no audio | $0.42 | 14 Oct 2026 |
| Pika Starter, Wan 3.0, 720p (33 credits) | $0.37 | 14 Oct 2026 |
| Ziztu Reel Factory Max, H3 Max Turbo, 480p (310 credits) | $0.62 | 27 Oct 2026 |
| Ziztu Reel Factory Max, H3 Max Turbo, 768p (500 credits) | $1.00 | 27 Oct 2026 |
| Runway Standard, Gen-4.5 (60 credits) | $1.44 | 14 Oct 2026 |
The Pika and Runway rows divide each plan's monthly price by its credits. The API rows multiply the per second price by five.
Job 5: an AI presenter
If you want a person on screen reading your script, use an avatar tool. Ziztu is built around generated scenes, not a presenter, so this is not our pick.
HeyGen (read 25 October 2026). Free is $0 for 3 watermarked videos a month of up to 1 minute. Creator is $29 a month ($24 billed yearly) and Pro is $49 a month, both with longer videos up to 30 minutes. See the HeyGen alternative page.
Synthesia (read 11 October 2026). Basic is $0 for 500 credits a month, which its page says is about 10 minutes of video, with a Synthesia watermark. Starter is $18 a month billed yearly and Pro is $64 a month billed yearly. See Synthesia alternatives.
How to choose
- A story with the same cast in every shot: Ziztu.
- Daily Shorts: Reel Factory, or faceless.video or faceless.so if scheduled posting matters most.
- A 20 to 40 minute documentary: the AI YouTube Video Maker. Pictory and Invideo are better for a script you already have and want to edit.
- One realistic clip with sound: Veo 3.1.
- Fast action or dance: Kling 3.0, from a strong first frame.
- A person on screen: HeyGen.
Many creators mix tools: a long film in one, Shorts cut from the same topic in another. You do not need one tool for everything. Whatever you pick, read the tool's own page before you pay, because prices and plans change often.
Try it
400 free credits for scripts, character art, storyboards, voices and sound, plus your first 5 second video free, no card. More video starts at $9 a week. To try a short reel, open Reel Factory. To try one clip, use the faceless video generator: it makes a 5 second vertical clip for 310 credits at 480p.
