What Runway does well
Runway is a creative studio for filmmakers: its own Gen-4.5 video model, outside models such as Kling 3.0 and Nano Banana Pro, and tools for editing, upscaling and voice. It is one of the most complete tools in this list. Its plans, from the official pricing page on 11 October 2026:

Why people look for an alternative
- Seconds per dollar. On Standard, 625 credits make 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 a month.
- The free credits are one-time. 125 credits, then a plan.
- A particular look. Anime, a soft painted style or a specific model may work better elsewhere.
